Immigration Investor Category To qualify as an immigrant investor, an applicant must: » Have net assets of at least CDN $800,000 acquired through his/her own legal economic activities » Have at least 3 years of full-time management experience (planning, management and control of material, financial and human resources) acquired in an industrial, commercial or agricultural business enterprise that is profitable and legal (for each of the 3 years in question) » Undertake to invest, for five years, CDN $400,000, through a securities broker recognized by the Commission des valeurs mobilières du Quebec (Quebec Securities Commission). An Investment Agreement is signed with said securities broker. The amount will be invested with IQ immigrants Investisseurs Inc., a subsidiary of Investissement Quebec for the purposes of financing an aid program for Quebec based small and medium-sized businesses. The investment is fully guaranteed by the Government of Quebec declare an intent to settle in the Province of Quebec » Applicants must be represented by an immigration lawyer or consultant who is an agent of Canaccord Capital's Program » An Application for a Quebec Selection Certificate is completed for the Applicant and his/her spouse or de facto spouse as well as for any dependent child aged 18 or over, an Appendix Form for business immigrants and a declaration by spouse or de facto spouse is submitted through one of the Quebec Immigration Service offices around the world . » The applicant signs an Investment Agreement and a Power of Attorney, empowering Canaccord Capital to act on the investor's behalf in investing the funds and dealing with the Quebec authorities . » An immigration application is submitted to a Quebec Immigration Service office, together with the original of the Investment Agreement and other required documentation » The Quebec immigration authorities evaluate the application and conduct an interview at one of the Quebec Immigration Service offices abroad, in the country of residence of the applicant or, if requested, in Montreal » After an acceptance by the authorities, the funds to be invested are deposited in the investor's personal account at Canaccord Capital, subsequently transferred to IQ immigrants Investisseurs Inc., a subsidiary of Investissement Quebec for the purposes of financing an aid program for Quebec-based small and medium sized businesses. » IQ immigrants Investisseurs Inc. Issues a Term Note guaranteeing the complete investment amount. This Term Note is underwritten by the Government of Quebec. » A Quebec Selection Certificate is issued by the Quebec immigration authorities » The immigrant investment is made by the Immigrant Investor Program at Canaccord Capital » Canadian immigration authorities conduct a medical and criminal background verification and issue a Canadian Permanent Resident Visa » Investors are welcome to land in Canada (Quebec) With Financing Requires a payment of CDN $120,000 from the Investor. The Immigrant Investor Program at Canaccord Capital shall secure a bank loan of CDN $280,000 on behalf of the Investor. No further payment is required from the Investor. The initial payment of CDN $120,000 is used to pay the interest on the bank loan and other financing charges. No balance is repaid to the Investor at the end of the five (5) year term. Without Financing Requires a payment of CDN $400,000 from the Investor. No further payment is required from the Investor. At the end of the five (5) year term, CDN $400,000 is repaid to the Investor. Please note that there are no management fees, administrative fees or service charges of any kind payable by the Investor. DIRECT REPRESENTATION File Review Our in-house attorneys will review your immigration applications and all related supporting documents prior to submission or prior to the Selection Interview with the immigration authorities in order to ensure that all applications are as well prepared as possible. This service is offered at no cost to investor applicants. Interview Preparation Our in-house attorneys will meet with investor clients and personally prepare them for their Selection Interview with the immigration authorities, also at no cost to investor applicants. Interview Attendance Our in-house attorneys will attend investor clients' selection interviews anywhere in the world, at no cost to investor applicants. (Please note that this service is only available for the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program since the Federal government does not permit the presence of lawyers at interviews in the context of the Canada (Federal) Immigrant Investor Program.) Administrative Review and Appeal Although it is rare for participants in Canaccord's Immigrant Investor Program to be refused by the immigration authorities, our attorneys will prepare a Request for an Administrative Review in the event that an application is unjustifiably refused. This service is also provided at no cost to investor clients. To qualify as an immigrant investor, an applicant must: » have managed and controlled a percentage of the equity of a Qualifying Business for at least 2 years within the previous 5-year period OR » have managed at least 5 full-time employees for at least 2 years within the previous 5-year period AND » have a legally obtained net worth of at least CDN $800,000 undertake to invest CDN $400,000 for a period of five years and two months. The Government of Canada will allocate the funds for investment with the participating Canadian provinces and a Nontransferable Zero Interest Promissory Note, fully guaranteed by participating provinces, will be issued for subsequent repayment, without interest. Express an intent to settle in a Canadian province or territory outside of Quebec Applicants must be represented by an immigration lawyer or consultant who is an agent of Canaccord Capital's Program. » Application for Permanent Residence in Canada and » Background declaration is completed for the applicant, his/her spouse as well as any dependent aged 18 years or older together with an Additional Family Information form and an Economic classes form. These forms together with all supporting documentation are submitted to one of the Canadian Visa Offices around the world that process business applications . Applicants must sign » 2 original Subscription Agreements » 1 Power of Attorney » 1 Investor's Acknowledgment form and remit these documents to the Immigrant Investor Program at Canaccord Capital. The Canadian immigration authorities evaluate the application and conduct an interview at one of the Canadian Visa Offices. After a conditional acceptance by the Canadian immigration authorities, the funds to be invested are deposited in the investor's personal account at Canaccord Capital. The Immigrant Investor Program at Canaccord Capital sends all required documentation together with the investment funds to the Business Immigration Centre of Citizenship and Immigration Canada in Ottawa. A Canadian Permanent Residence Visa is issued and investors are welcome to land in Canada. The immigrant investment is allocated, by the Federal government, to the participating Canadian provinces and a Nontransferable Zero Interest Promissory Note, fully guaranteed by the participating provinces, will be issued to the investor . With Financing Requires a payment of CDN $130,000 from the Investor. The Immigrant Investor Program at Canaccord Capital shall secure a bank loan of CDN $270,000 on behalf of the Investor. No further payment is required from the Investor. The initial payment of CDN $130,000 is used to pay the interest on the bank loan and other financing charges. No balance is repaid to the Investor at the end of the five (5) year term. Without Financing Requires a payment of CDN $400,000 from the Investor. No further payment is required from the Investor. At the end of the five (5) year term, the CDN $400,000 is repaid to the Investor.
