 Iinternational Post Graduate Student Program For British Columbia |
Students who wish to pursue a Master's degree programme or a Doctorate Degree programme from a qualifying institute in BC, now have a more attractive aspect to being students-and that is gaining Permanent Residence to Canada after the completion of the programme. To make this more attractive, the student DOES NOT require to have an offer of employment from BC when applying for their Permanent Resident. This three year Pilot Project was announced on May 28, 2010. Under this programme the student must demonstrate ties to British Columbia which may include; |
1. Previous studies completed in B.C.
2. Proof of property ownership in B.C.
3. Family ties to B.C. etc |
This programme is yet another feather in the cap for the British Columbia Provincial Nomination authorities who have earlier introduced the International Graduate Programme for students. Applicants under the Post Graduate programme must have made the application for Permanent Residence within two years of having received the last official transcript from the education institute. |

- Agriculture
- Biological and Biomedical Sciences
- Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services
- Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Natural Resources Conservation and Research
- Physical Sciences

An applicant who pursued the course through a Distance learning programs, while not living in B.C. will not qualify.
Students studying at a public Post Secondary Institute are eligible to apply for open work permit upon the completion of their studies.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrate that they will economically establish themselves in British Columbia upon gaining Permanent Residence.
