According to the Canadian officials the level of Canadian visas and number of Immigration are to remain constant in 2010.
Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Jason Kenney presented a Citizenship and Immigration Canada's 2009 Annual Report in Parliament, saying that the Canadian visa and number of immigration will remain the same in 2009.

"Our country is maintaining the level of immigration, unlike other countries, even during the economic downturn. This is being done keeping in mind the medium to long-term economic needs of the country. " the Minister said.

According to the minister, Canada would welcome around 240,000 to 265,000 new permanent residents in the year 2010, as in recent years. This figure is greater than the average annual number of new permanent residents during 1990s.
"The main focus behind immigration in year 2010 is to support the economy of Canada after the current economic recovery."

In particular, the territories and the provinces have increased the admission ranges for Canadian visa applicants for the nominees. There is double benefit as the provinces and territories know that the labor market needs can be met by Canada immigration intake and this would help in an even distribution of immigrants across the country.

Australia - the second best Nation to reside In.
In the UN list, which ranked countries based on quality of life and was released earlier this month ranked Australia 2nd in the whole world only after Norway. There are full chances of Australia climbing up to rank one in the next year's report. The life expectancy in the country rose over three months in the last one year period, with the income rising around four percent.

The Human Development Report of the United Nations Development Program's in year 2009 for the year 2007-2008 covered 182 Countries for the following aspects:
  • Life Expectancy
  • Income
  • School Enrolment

In the list UK stayed at number 21 and US rolled down one step to 13. The lowest in the list was Niger followed by Afghanistan and Sierra Leone. Following is the list of top 10 countries most of which are European nations:
  • Norway
  • Australia
  • Iceland
  • Canada
  • Ireland
  • The Netherlands
  • Sweden
  • France
  • Switzerland
  • Japan

The report said: "Most migration, be it international or internal results in higher income levels, better access to health and education and better internal and international, reaps gains in the form of higher incomes, better future prospects for the children of the migrants."
"At a little or no cost to the locals of a country, the migrants increase the economic output. In fact the positive effects may be broader," it said.

"However the migrants who are marginalized, like due to high levels of unemployment or temporary or irregular status, may become aggressive and take up antisocial behavior that may confirm the locals' security fear. " the report said.

Dr Klugman the writer of the report said the following about migration "It's not something to be feared or which is growing out of control."

In the 52 countries that were surveyed the attitude towards the migrants was positive. However, a competition is seen among the developed nations to get the skilled migrants.
Dr Klugman said: "There's very good competition at the top of the list where nations like Australia do relatively well than some European countries who have had problems and difficulties in eliciting skilled people from abroad.."

Dr Klugman also emphasized on the need to allow entry of lower skilled migrants:

'It is equally significant to get low-skilled people, as a large portion of the economy needs human resources for aged-care, child-care and a whole range of such services. "

UK immigration concerned about immigrations as Bogus Students”
UKBA recently commented the UK is witnessing illegal immigration, as migrants are entering as bogus students.

The head of the UK Border agency, Jeremy Oppenheim said:

"The points-based system implies that only those schools and colleges will be licensed to get in students from abroad, who take up responsibility for their students and give quality education."
"UK Border Agency and the accreditation bodies inspect the schools and colleges to ensure that they are genuine. Currently, just 200 UK institutes are bringing in students from abroad as compared to 4000 before the controls were tightened.

"All the migrants have to prove to the UK border officer that they will comply with all the conditions attached to their visas and that they meet the immigration rules. The officer can and would refuse the entry if the migrants are not able. "
